Russia Creating an Unmanned Marine Vehicle for Monitoring of Remote Maritime Areas

The mockup of “Ten” (“Shadow”) robotic system, a surface/underwater vehicle (USV/UUV), was presented at “Army-2017” international forum. This trimaran is designed to monitor remote maritime areas and to collect oceanic environmental and hydrophysical data.  

 

Russia Expects to Get a Ground Effect Vehicle by 2022

As reported by Morvesti portal with reference to TASS news agency, a multirole ground effect vehicle (GEV) entitled “Chaika” will be created in Russia in 2020-2022. Ivan Antsev, an executive director of “Radar mms” research and industrial enterprise, stated that in his interview to TASS.  

 

Rosatomflot has Completed a Scheduled Overhaul of “Vaygach” Icebreaker

According to the press centre of Atomfot Federal State Unitary Enterprise, its Mourmansk Branch has completed a scheduled shipyard overhaul of “Vaygach” nuclear-powered icebreaker. The vessel’s condition currently meets all applicable standards, so it is prepared to efficiently and safely escort ships through the Northern Sea Route.

Vassiliy Osmakov, Deputy RF Minister of Industry and Trade, told TASS News Agency on the sidelines of the International Arctic Forum that in late 2017 Russia’s Shipyards will be Prepared for Construction of an Icebreaker with 120 MW capacity.  

 

The Head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation will Chair the State Duma Shipbuilding Expert Council

The Expert Council on Shipbuilding and Marine Facilities will be set up under the State Duma Committee on Economic Politics, Industry, Innovational Development and Entrepreneurship. The journalists were briefed on that issue by Vladimir Gutenev, First Deputy Head of the Committee.
