According to the press service of Russian Federal Fisheries Agency (“Rosrybolovstvo”), the salmon catch in the Far East Fisheries Basin has totaled 289 thousand tons, which by 6% (16 thousand tons) exceeds a similar period of “odd-numbered” 2015.
Petr Savchuk, deputy head of “Rosrybolovstvo”, has delivered a video conference to discuss results of capture fishing in the current year.
The main supplier of the Pacific salmon is Kamchatka Region, where the catch has already reached 235 thousand tons. This volume outreaches the yield of a similar period in 2015 by 31%. The fishing season in this region is now at the final stage.
The catch of the Pacific salmon in Khabarovsk Territory has reached 22 thousand tons, which is by 10 thousand tons less as compared to results of 2015. Sakhalin Region fisheries have produced about 24 thousand tons fish, which shows a 57% decline against the preceding “odd-numbered” year.
Magadan Region demonstrates positive dynamics – it’s 5.8 thousand tons catch, including 2.2 thousand tons fished in Chukotka Autonomous District. Primorye Territory has produced slightly less than 1 ton fish.
