The Expert Council on Shipbuilding and Marine Facilities will be set up under the State Duma Committee on Economic Politics, Industry, Innovational Development and Entrepreneurship. The journalists were briefed on that issue by Vladimir Gutenev, First Deputy Head of the Committee.
According to him, the Committee will be chaired by Aleksey Rakhmanov, Vice-President of League for Support to Defense Industry Enterprises and President of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK). At the same time, Mr. Gutenev will be co-coordinating activities of the Committee’s Expert Council.
“The State Duma Committee on Economic Politics, Industry, Innovational Development and Entrepreneurship will primarily address intersector challenges, for instance, seek ways to establish reasonably balanced relations with metal makers or forge close links with engine manufacturers”, emphasized the Deputy. – “Successful replacement of imported gas-turbine equipment is a significant factor to improve competitiveness of Russia’s shipbuilding sector”.
Additionally, he indicated that for the first time ever a new Chairman, Aleksey Rakhmanov (President of the United Shipbuilding Corporation), was a most reputable representative of a professional community, but not an elected official. In Mr. Gutenev’s view, due to this solution not just first deputy heads of key industrial corporations, but also their CEOs will participate in activities of the State Duma expert councils.
